You'll probably have already read the story about the mammoth task unearthing and returning 'Oxford', one of the First Overland 86-inch Series 1 station wagons, to the UK (if you've missed it, turn to p106 of October's issue of LRO). Now's your chance to see this historic vehicle up close and personal - it's first public outing is at our show. The diminutive (by current standards, anyway) Land Rover has been sympathetically rebuilt, retaining as much of the original vehicle as was possible. It'll be on display on a stand next to the Land Rover Series One Club and, as well as being one of the first to meet this legendary vehicle, you'll be able to watch footage of the Oxford and Cambridge Far East Expidition that made it famous and helped promote Land Rover around the world. The adventures this Land Rover enjoyed have inspired generations of owners to venture overland and explore the world - and now that it's returned to the UK from what was expected to be it's final resting place, it will continue to do so for years to come.
From the widest range of club displays to high-octane arena activities, there’s so much to see at our Peterborough show on September 16-17, you’ll want to make a weekend of it.
At the centre of LRO’s Peterborough show is our Live Action Arena, which hosts the best action on the Land Rover show calendar – Come along and take a seat, it’s going to be a year to remember…
The show arena bar was raised with an axle-twisting off-road course at our 2016 Peterborough show – complete with trees in the middle of the speedway track.
LRO’s Workshop section is the best in the business, and thanks to Britpart it will become a fantastic new feature of our 2017 show.
LRO’s workshop experts, including writer Martin Domoney, will be demonstrating a range of different tasks on our fleet of vehicles in the LRO Britpart Workshop theatre. Like the whole LRO editorial team, they’ll also be available to talk Land Rovers throughout the weekend!
